In Tampa Heights on Saturday, “neo-traditional mountain folk” band The Wandering Hours headlines this stellar shuffleboard venue lineup along with Ashley Smith & the Random Occurrence (Astro!), which plays a mix of blues, folk, and indie (listen to the single “Loneliness, My Lover” and you’ll get it). What’s more is that Astro’s fiddler, Nick Ewing is also joining songwriter Leon Majcen for his opening set.
“Oddly enough I've performed with everyone playing that night at some point or another in my musical adventures,” Ewing told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. Don’t forget that a lot of these venues are still struggling. Buy a lot of food and drinks, and tip like you’ve got space rocket money.
