Nick Ewing is a mainstay in the Tampa Bay Americana scene, but he’s usually off to the side of the stage, with a fiddle in hand supporting one of the many songwriters working local stages. His own material, however, gets a chance to be centerstage this weekend when he takes part in the Summer Series concerts that kicked off in downtown Tampa this month.

“It’ll be me JT Brown, Adam Randall doing a jammy improvish and song collaboration kind of deal with all of our individual music and play off one another,” Ewing—who’s also in the nascent stages of building out a sustainable-living compound and possible concert venue in East Tampa—told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. “It’s gonna be a writers round kind of element with jazz vibes and such.”

There’s no cover to see Nick Ewing take part in the Tampa Downtown Partnership’s Summer Series concert happening at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Tampa on Sunday, July 30. Subscribe to Creative Loafing newsletters.
