American violinist and former classical music wunderkind Rachel Barton Pine has a Monday night show at USF, and it’s a gig worth heading to. The charity concert from the 45-year-old is hosted by, and benefits, Brooksville’s Queen of All Saints Academy whose online All Saints Academy programs are designed to offer what Sister Mary Magdalene describes as “a quality education to children who do not have this opportunity due to location, health, or tuition.”

I’m Catholic, and there’s almost no way I’m not supporting a sister, but agnostics can still be sold on the event after watching Pine work through Dvorák, Khachaturian, Back and others.

Rachel Barton Pine. Mon. Feb. 17, 8 p.m. $40 & up. School of Music Concert Hall at University of South Florida, Tampa. eventbrite.com
