Guess what, kids? Poppa Reed Haskett from “Dolphin Tale” is actually one of America’s finest songwriters, and he’s responsible for a classic hangover/self-reflection song that’s beloved by an entire generation of music fans (look up “Sunday Mornin’ Coming Down” on Spotify, youngin’.) Last time Kris Kristofferson played the Capitol Theatre, his old friend John Prine, who calls Gulfport home during parts of the year, showed up—and guess what, adults? The European leg of Prine’s tour doesn’t start until February, so if he’s not in Ireland with his wife Fiona, then we’re hoping for a reprise.
And if you missed out on tickets for this, but are still looking for an Americana show on Sunday, then we recommend catching Jim Lauderdale and Austin Miller in Ybor City.
Kris Kristofferson w/Robert Earl Keen. Sun. Jan. 26, 7 p.m. Sold out. Bilheimer Capitol Theatre, Clearwater. rutheckerdhall.com
