Tampa’s Limelight nightclub seems to be one of the go to spots for on the rise rap artists, and Orlando’s Mook Boy hits the Wellswood nightclub this weekend. Mook Boy has been working that underground scene since 2010, but hit Billboard charts with his 2019 album King Titus III. I can never get sick of the “Ready or Not” beat (where the Fugees also sample Enya’s 1987 song "Boadicea" ), and Mook Boy does the track justice on “Peon.”
You might want to bring a big purse, or a reusable bag, because the event hosted by Tampa’s own rising rapper L.A. the Goat is advertising $50,000 in $1 bills—don’t be stuck stuffing dirty dollars in your shirt.
If you can’t make it Friday, the Mookster will be at Pinellas Park’s Bottoms Up Gentlemen’s Club on Aug. 6.
