And the hits keep coming. After an early morning round of Tampa Bay concert announcements, Crowbar in Ybor City and Amalie Arena in downtown Tampa have added a few more big acts to the winter & spring concert calendar.
- Parquet Courts — fresh off an announcement of new music with rapper Bun B — have announced a show at Crowbar in Ybor City on February 8. The New York City rock outfit most recently appeared at the American Legion in Seminole Heights, and they'll be supported by Philadelphia harpist Mary Lattimore. Tickets are $15-$18 and tickets go on sale Thursday, November 22.
- New Orleans bounce luminary Big Freedia is finally coming to Tampa Bay. The 38-year-old Queen of Bounce is currently awaiting sentencing after pleading guilty to stealing federal Section 8 housing voucher funds, but she'll play Crowbar in Ybor City on March 3 before the August 25 sentencing date. She is largely regarded as a matriarch of the genre who kept it alive before DJs like Diplo brought it to the mainstream about half a decade ago. Tickets for the show are $18-$38 and available now.
- New Kids on the Block are coming to Amalie Arena on July 15, 2017. The 80s boy band reunion-toured in 2013, but this time they're coming with pop icon Paula Abdul and R&B legends Boyz II Men. Tickets will cost $26.20-$196.20 and go on sale November 19, 2016. Check out their Today show announcement below.
