Trey Anastasio Band has announced a rare Tampa Bay date, which should make fans somewhat happy?

The Phish frontman will be at St. Petersburg’s Jannus Live May 28, and tickets go on sale this Friday, February 15 at 11 a.m. EST, but you’re right: This is not a Phish now.

The last show Phish proper played in the area was at the USF Sun Dome in 1995. I was 10 years old, and my Phish-adoring mentor Leilani Polk (who was the music editor at CL before I got here) would not arrive on staff at this newspaper for another nine years.

Ticket prices should be announced soon. Don’t hold your breath for a Phish date, either.
