The Whiskey Gentry, from Atlanta, returned to New World Brewery for their third time last Thursday night. Opening acts Andy Brey (who frequently sits in with Bradenton's Have Gun, Will Travel) and Colombia, S.C.'s Josh Roberts & The Hinges laid down a solid folk/bluegrass/alt country foundation, and by the time Whiskey Gentry came on around midnight, people were ready to dance. I can't imagine a better venue for this show than New World; there's just something about tapping your toes on the wooden beams that feels so right whenever they come around.
