Last Friday night, The rain stopped just in time for indie-folk romantic The Head and the Heart to hit the stage at Jannus Live in downtown St. Petersburg. It felt like 100 degrees, hot and muggy and sweaty, but that didn’t stop the band from dipping into its entire discography for a sold-out crowd of lovers singing and dancing along to every catchy song as part of the Seattle outfit’s first trip to the Bay area since a Tampa Pig Jig show in 2023. With babies in tow on the tour, and the promise of a newly-completed sixth, still-unnamed, studio album, the band is on the road for the sake of sharing music with fans across the country before wrapping the tour at Kentucky’s Bourbon and Beyond Music Festival.
