From the moment Taylor Upsahl stepped onstage to help kickoff day two of 2021’s 97X Next Big Thing, I knew Tampa Bay was witnessing history.

Though most of the instrumentation behind her was pre-recorded, her bass lines, guitar work, and lyrics about social anxiety resonated with her small-but-mighty crowd.

Last year, the 25-year-old headlined a gig at Ybor City’s Crowbar while performing the majority of her album Lady Jesus. Expect Upsahl’s set opening for Madison Beer to be filled with plenty from her new album The PHX Tapes.
