Prince tribute concert happens in Tampa this weekend

Last week marked the sixth anniversary of Prince’s death—and doves are still crying.

To remember the legend, community radio station WMNF 88.5-FM has tapped one of its own (“All Souls” Wednesday host Scott Elliot and his band, Talk to Mark) to headline “When Doves Cry,” a Saturday Prince tribute show at Tampa’s New World Brewery featuring some of the area’s brightest acts on support at the music hall stage.

Be ready for a party, too as DJs include the station’s own Cen-Flo who throws the “Saturday Night House Party” each and every week.

And when you grab a breath of fresh air, say hi to CL senior music contributor Gabe Echazabal who’s DJ-ing a Prince tribute set in the beer garden.
