Tickets to see Chris Brown and Lil Baby play MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, Aug. 13 go on sale Friday, April 29 and start at $29.50. The only other Florida show is on Aug. 12 in West Palm Beach.
Brown last played here in 2019 at Amalie Arena, with one reviewer noting that they didn’t notice any remorse in the singer’s eyes.
Remorse, Brown’s critics would argue, should come in the wake of the 32-year-old’s long history of violence, including a 2017 altercation with a Tampa photographer where charges were eventually dropped. His supporters will point to bipolar and PTSD diagnoses, plus Brown’s time in therapy, as evidence that he’s trying to turn over a new leaf.
His hit making prowess (he’s spent 19 weeks atop Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart) and popularity (19 Grammy nominations, one win) makes all of it an afterthought, however, and it’s fitting that Brown is bringing an equally popular artist on the road with him.
Lil Baby, who was booked to play Ybor City as part of Super Bowl LV festivities, put out some of radio’s most powerful protest music in 2020 and has recently collaborated with Ed Sheeran and even appeared together with Brown on a 2018 Tory Lanez track, “Flexible.”
