He’s only 25 years old, but George Pennington has been playing in Tampa Bay bands for 14 years—and for the last three he’s been working on his own album, “GPIII,” recorded locally and in Los Angeles. The rocking psychedelic-blues extravaganza’s release celebration is separated in two sections “using a ‘yin’ and ‘yang’ format,” Pennington told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay. First, it’s acoustic and piano-based songs and then the USF Music School graduate will “take it to a whole new level” playing all new stuff.
