Pedro Juan Vázquez Braga has an edge in this industry where labels (and let’s face it publications, too) are looking at streaming numbers, virality, and quirks to set artists apart from each other.

That’s because the Puerto Rican rapper better known as PJ Sin Suela is also a doctor—not like Dr. Dre either.

The Bronx-born 35-year-old makes urbano and reggaeton that grapples with social issues including poverty and gun violence, but graduated from medical school in 2015.

Tickets to see PJ Sin Suela play Crowbar in Ybor City on Saturday, Sept. 21 are still available and start at $25.
