A high-energy concert performance photograph by Nicole Kibert showing Ted Leo & The Pharmacists play Crowbar in Ybor City, Florida on Nov. 1, 2011. Captured in a dynamic low-angle close-up shot, musician Ted Leo sings intensely into a microphone with his mouth wide open while fretting a dark Gibson Les Paul electric guitar. He wears a black graphic t-shirt featuring red and yellow artwork, set against a dark stage background with warm stage spotlighting illuminating his face and guitar neck.

From white privilege, to the police state, Trump, and more, Ted Leo has never shied away from politics. Now the 56-year-old songwriter is bringing that energy to the campaign trail for one of the most exciting Democratic candidates in the general election.

Leo has been announced as the musical act for two stops on Nixon’s weekend rallies alongside Bernie Sanders, including one on Saturday, Oct. 17 at the Cuban Club courtyard.

Sanders, the 85-year-old Independent Vermont Senator is in the Sunshine State and imploring voters to send Nixon—who resoundingly won her primary despite being outspent 16-to-1—to Washington D.C.

Expect to hear tracks like “The High Party,” The Sons of Cain,” and “Mourning In America,” when Leo takes the stage ahead of the stump speeches.

As previously reported, a program schedule says doors open at 11 a.m., with speaking set to start at 1 p.m. There’s no cost to attend, but anyone who walks through the gates is supposed to RSVP.

The Sanders and Nixon campaigns apparently have great taste in Florida music, too, since homegrown punk favorite Dikembe is also on the bill in Gainesville while Winded plays the Tallahassee stop.
