You wanna go see Juvenile, ha. Cause he’s playing in Tampa, ha. Well you gotta wear a mask, ha. Cause we’re in a pandemic, ha. If you haven’t guessed by my (very bad) homage, one of the greatest rappers from one of the greatest music subgenres (‘00s Southern rap) is coming to Tampa, specifically Whiskey North. So get ready to “Back that Azz up” Saturday night (or “Back that Thang Up,” if you're more of a radio edit kind of listener).

Juvenile, who started off with B.G., Turk, and Lil Wayne in the Hot Boys out of New Orleans before he went solo, isn’t just playing one off shows as of late. According to Rolling Stone and Juvie’s Instagram, he spends a lot of his pandemic time making decorative housewares like lamps and tables “using metals, wood, electric and paint” which you can buy through his company Made by Juvie.

The event is advertised as the “Living Legends Series” so hopefully that means they got some Ying Yang Twins, Big Tymers or some more of that aughts shit coming down the pipe.

Tampa MC YoursTru Bigga, fresh from his February single “Buccaneers Roll,” opens. Masks really are required, ha.

Juvenile w/YoursTru Bigga. Saturday, April 17. 10 p.m. $45.59 and up. Whiskey North, Tampa. eventbrite.com
