Ray Olan and Hector Mayoral know how to throw a party in small spaces. The pair did it during a BOTB-winning set at The Hub where an 11-piece band turned the downtown dive into a salsa and merengue-flavored Rock the Park rainout for the ages. The joyous composer/bandleader and Tampa songwriter do it again on Sunday when they bring a smaller ensemble (a quintet) to Seminole Heights’ Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe for a party soundtracked by old Latin sounds and other crossover dance flavors. Free to attend, bring money for food & drink.

Sun. May 5. Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe, 5119 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa. 4-7 p.m. ellasfolkartcafe.com.
