By day, Kate Bradshaw’s an intrepid girl reporter. By night, she kicks off her vintage attire and awesome shoes… to don her even-more-awesome Jackie O. sunglasses and a guitar. That’s right, Loafers, everyone’s favorite news editor plays in a girl band, Jacqui & Le Dropouts. Come hear Jacqui & Le Dropouts with Geri X and Soft White: A Night of Art About Girls and Music by Girls at everyone’s favorite dive bar, the Emerald. The Emerald has a pretty unique collection of atmosphere: I’ve yet to see smokers in there, but the place reeks of ciggies from years and years of smoking; it brings in cool bands like Kate’s (they have groupie openings, by the way); and, of course, they’re a hole-in-the-wall dive bar that draws everyone from reporters to attorneys, which, after a few Bud Lights, is never a good thing. Or maybe it’s an awesome thing. Reporters love to talk to drunk attorneys.
