After 33 shows across the United States, Lil Tecca landed at The Ritz in Ybor City for the finale of his โTecca Loves Youโ tour on Saturday night.
In his first headlining tour, the 19-year-old rap sensation made it apparent that he missed his fans as much as they have missed him. After the pandemic robbed many artists of most live music events in 2020 and 2021, Lil Tecca was back with more energy than ever. Along with him, Tecca brought emerging artists Baby Santana and Bktherula to open the stage and ignite the madness that ensued.
Lil Teccaโs performance started when the lights went out and the crowd chanting, โWe want Tecca!” In a sea of cellphone lights, Lil Tecca ran out on to the stage with incredible energy leading off with โLot of Meโ. After โDid It Againโ and โDIVAโ, Tecca had made it clear the crowd was in for a great show. In reciprocation, the crowd was ecstatic as they moshed around and seemingly knew every word.
As he fell to his knees in a circle of light, he thanked his fans for their continued support, and in true touring fashion exclaimed โThank you all, this is the last show of the tourโฆ Iโm going home,โ and did not return for an encore despite the crowd calling for “One more song.”
Earlier in the evening, Bktherula turned the crowd from dormant to excited in a matter of seconds with hits such as โLEFT RIGHTโ and โSantannyโ. After her set, she graciously met with fans at the front of the stage. Next, Baby Santana piggy backed off Bkโs amazing start with hits like โ14โ and โPatriciaโ. At the close of his set, Santana fell to his knees in praise as tears welled in his eyes, thanking the crowd and his fans for their support. Both Bk and Santana did an impeccable job engaging with the crowd, getting close, shaking hands, and allowing some lucky fans time to rap on the microphone.
Not to be overlooked, the Ritz Ybor featured crisp sound and vigilant safety personnel who handed out waters to dehydrated fans and kept the event safe.
