When Billy Corgan relaunched the Smashing Pumpkins, the new band performed two extended residencies: eight nights at Asheville's Orange Peel and 11 nights at San Francisco's famed Fillmore Auditorium. If All Goes Wrong documents this period, showcasing a band finding its way under the crushing pressure of audience expectations and a demanding bandleader who can't stop writing new songs. The DVD also includes a full set from the Fillmore, shot in hi-def over five nights, plus other assorted goodies. For many, the Pumpkins have been an acquired taste, but If All Goes Wrong is easily the band's most accessible release to date. 4 stars
