For years, funky and soulful saxophone-playing vocalist-frontman Ronnie Dee has been entertaining the Tampa Bay area with energy that should be bottled and sold. This weekend he brings the funky spectacle of his band, the Superstars, for a free concert at St. Pete’s newish Floridian Social Club (formerly State Theatre).

The band’s latest video, “Strangely Peculiar,” takes the outfit into the historic Tampa Theatre, playing up the haunted aspect of the venue, and playing up the ska side of Dee and the Superstars. Dress for the 21 and up show is “party attire” which for Dee means lamé. Aren’t you sick of your leggings anyways? They could probably use a night off.
