Keith Ulrey has made his Seminole Heights record store, Microgroove, work, and the neighborhood around him is growing, too (have you seen the fancy-schmancy new offices across Florida Avenue?). On Sunday, Ulrey celebrates with friends and a four-hour lineup of bands that are anchored in the indie-rock tradition, but manage to float off into a little emo (Blacksmith), art-rock noir (Mrenc), pop (The Last Nerv, The Paperback Whale) and punk (Rutterkin).
Admission is free, and there’ll be coffee (Commune + Co.), beverages (Jug & Bottle) and free PBR if you’re of age. What’s even better is that you get 10% off your tab at the nearby Independent Bar & Café (where Americana singer-songwriter Matt Woods plays a free show) with your Microgroove receipt.
