The Downtown Dunedin Merchants Association has tapped New Orleans’ Dumpstaphunk to headline the Dunedin Wines the Blues 2020 on Saturday, Nov. 14.
Joining Dumpstaphunk, which features cousins Ivan and Ian Neville, will be a healthy lineup of locals including Betty Fox Band and Damon Fowler Band from Florida, and headliner Dumpstaphunk from New Orleans.
Attendees headed to the Gateway in downtown Dunedin must purchase a “pod” in order to go to the event. They cost $300-$1,2000 for the group and are essentially eight-by-10-foot spaces for groups of six people or less. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets to sit in their designated pod. VIP pods are also available for purchase and a shoutout on a sponsorship screen, some merch, a private bathroom and drink station with private drink servers (a similar pod concept will be tested Thursday evening in Tampa for Rock the Park).
Food trucks will be at the event with a variety of food including vegan options. To prevent congregation in common areas, guests have the option of ordering food online or at the truck before having the food delivered to their pods.
For safety, all attendees are required to wear a mask when not in their pod. All members of a pod must be together at arrival and will be escorted to their pod. Hand sanitizer will be provided to guests as they move about the event, including at bathrooms, and two additional exit points will be opened at the end of the show to prevent crowding.
“Our number one priority is the safety of our guests. We have decided to limit contact and keep distance while enjoying the annual celebration of blues music in Dunedin, Florida.,” the Facebook event page reads. “Thank you for supporting the arts and keeping our community safe. The show must go on.”
Gates open at 2 p.m. and the music begins at 4 p.m. Tickets can be purchased via eventbrite.com.
