Cardiel, a skate-punk duo from Mexico City, spent its autumn touring the west coast with The Schizophonics. Founders Samantha Ambrosio and Miguel Fraรญno originally aimed to make music for skateboarding videos.

They seemed to succeed, because not long after they started, Thrasher magazine offered praise to the duo, adding to the band’s revered status in skateboarding and metal circles. Tickets to see Cardiel play Hooch and Hive in Tampa, along with Tension Electric and Use & Care, on Saturday, Feb. 25 are still available for $12.
