After the holidays slowed me down a bit, I'm finally getting my groove back. There is so much new music being thrown at me, it's like Christmas all over again. I have a great mix of jams for this week's Tune-Up, just direct your attention below for a few of my highlights.

Slowdive is back! That's right, the UK quintet that specialized in shoegaze rock has returned after a 22 year hiatus. Here we have "Star Roving," a soaring tune that sounds like what could be 10 guitars along with chilled out vocals from frontman Neil Halstead. It's like Slowdive just picked-up where they left off and didn't even need a warm-up session. I'm digging this tune quite a bit. Stay tuned for an album title and release date.

D.C electro-pop duo GEMS is slowly gearing us up for another album, while releasing monthly singles as part of their new series, Every Full Moon. GEMS will be unleashing a brand new song – that's right, every full moon. This month we've been gifted "Free Fall," a chilly dream-vibe ode that is laced with sexy synth. Keep the full moon goodness coming, GEMS.

Bonobo has dropped five well-received albums, but chances are you've never heard of him. His new LP, Migration released January 13, and the first thing I noticed was how much more ambitious his new material sounds. For me, that's a great thing because there seems to be more exploring and tinkering of his craft, especially with songs like "Outlier." I placed this track last on the playlist for a reason, it felt like the perfect outro, and not just for this playlist, but it could belong anywhere. "Outlier" is packed with beautiful arrangements that will force you to nod your head.

Oh, and The xx new LP I See You is outstanding! "Dangerous" is a great representation of how their creative process is flourishing. How about those looping horns? WOW! I highly recommend purchasing I See You; I think you'll find it well worth your time.
