If you’ve missed the Smashing Pumpkins, then this might be the show for you. In February, Billy Corgan’s Grammy-winning, pioneering alt-rock group announced the band’s first tour in nearly two decades, and while this show doesn’t feature original bassist D’arcy Wretzky (who played on the group's most beloved salad-days works), it does feature a more than 30-song setlist that touches almost every corner of the Pumpkins’ nearly 30-year discography. Just don’t expect to hear “Daydream” or any other song Wretzky — who is currently in an entertaining internet feud with Corgan — sang on. Listen to the band's new single, Solara (the cover art features art-direction from a Tampa-based company, TNSN DVSN), below.
Smashing Pumpkins w/Metric, Wed. July 25, 7 p.m. $29-$125. Amalie Arena, 400 Channelside Dr., Tampa. Tampa. amaliearena.com.
