Tampa Bay smooth jazz and gospel fans might want to think about going uptown this weekend.

Starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, Tampa’s University Area Community Development Corporation stages the Uptown Music Festival, an annual, family-friendly concert and art market.

This year, festivitie are built on top of a musical lineup heavy on the smooth jazz and rife with names that’ve won Latin Grammys and Emmys (José Valentino), NAACP Image Awards (Nathan Mitchell) and brought down venues across the world with straight up gospel (Jazmin Ghent).
