Something is going on over at Underoath HQ.
Today the Tampa metalcore outfit silenced its social media channels.
UPDATE: Thankfully Underoath has left a few clues. Yesterday, a Reddit user told users on the social network that a mysterious CD arrived in the mail. The URL written on the disc — eraseme.io — leads to a 35-second snippet of a song. A countdown clock appears when you swipe at the text on the webpage (erase it, get it?). AP points out that the countdown ends at 4 p.m. EST on Thursday.
Kids are Shazam-ing the song, and it's being pinged as "No Frame." The CD is already on Discogs, too.
The twice Grammy-nominated post-hardcore outfit has not released new music since 2010's Ø (Disambiguation), which was the band's seventh studio LP and its first without founding member Aaron Gillespie. Before that, fans would have to reach back to 2008's Lost in the Sound of Separation to find new music from Underoath.
Online, fans have been clamoring for a new album.
(We've been busy enjoying new jams from Carrollhood, a side project featuring Underoath Tim McTague on guitar and keys).

After disbanding in 2013, the group booked its surprise "Rebirth" comeback tour in 2016 with local shows happening at Jannus Live in St. Pete and Crowbar in Ybor City. Underoath's summer 2018 itinerary includes a slew of festival dates including Reading and Leeds (UK), Jera On Air (Holland), Aerodrome (Prague), Download (Spain), Hurricane & Southside (Germany) and more.
Lots of U.S. rock fests are also on the agenda in cities like Wisconsin (Rock Fest and Rock USA), Oklahoma (Rocklahoma), Jacksonville (Fort Rock), Charlotte (Carolina Rebellion), Vegas (Las Rageous), Columbus (Rock on the Range) and more.
For now, it's the wait and see.
