For the last three years, the Rock 'N' Roll Swap Meet has brought local-music night owls into the light of day for several hours of bands and barter at St. Pete's ACL Lounge. This time 'round, Swap Meet originator Roger Peterson (of Crippled Masters infamy) has moved the popular event to the back of the Jannus Landing courtyard and its adjoining nightclub The Tamiami. As usual, seven bands will play two stages — one inside, one out — while gaggles of scenesters listen, drink beer, wear cool sunglasses, buy local art and used T-shirts, and generally have a great time at one of the favorite get-togethers of the year. The shindig kicks off at 3 p.m., and features performances from garage-rockers Crippled Masters; slightly proggy old-school rock act Dream Window; punk unit The No Loves; provocateurs Rancid Polecats; new, loud-ass sludge-blues-rock combo The Weapons of Ass Destruction; power-pop purveyors Ricky Wilcox & The Moonsnakes; and one more band yet to be determined.
The Fourth Annual Rock 'N' Roll Swap Meet, Sun., April 9 @ Jannus Landing/The Tamiami @ Jannus Landing, St. Petersburg. 3 p.m.; $5.
