If you like the guitar on Jason Isbell’s latest records, then you might want to circle June 16 on your calendar.

That’s when The High Divers are set to play Crowbar in Ybor City in support of a new EP produced by Sadler Vaden, who handles the guitar for Isbell’s 400 Unit. Vaden also has credits on the new Josh Ritter album and albums by his own group Drivin N Cryin.

The show is the band's first local appearance since a July 2017 gig at Ella's in Seminole Heights.

Ride With You (due on June 7) was born after the South Carolina Americana outfit’s van was T-boned by a semi truck nearly two years ago. A press release says that members of the band suffered broken bones, physical and mental scares and “a new perspective on human existence.”

“Sadler wanted us to really focus on songs that were entwined with our lives and real experiences, which got us writing from a much deeper level,” the band said in a statement.

“There are songs about losing friends to suicide, trying to live with gratitude while struggling with PTSD, abusive relationships, busting out of your close-minded hometown, and finding peace falling in love with yourself and someone new.”

Tampa Bay bands The Hummingbirds and Matthew Fowler play support, and tickets are $9-12. More information is available via brokenmoldentertainment.com.
