One of the reasons we look forward to Record Store Day every year has to do with the plethora of live music lineups that so many of our local shops put together. As the band’s 45th anniversary approaches, Best of the Bay-winning prog-rock outfit Dream Window plays a hotspot that has a stage that’s active outside of the vinyl holiday.

In May, the six-piece premiered a new song called “It’s Only A Job,” which has a sound that embodies the vibe of an early, Peter Banks-era Yes song. It isn’t available on streaming yet, but knowing how long an instrumental break can go in progressive rock, expect a long night at the retail location of Bananas Music with lots of new material.

There’s no cover to see Dream Window play St. Petersburg’s Bananas Music on Saturday, Aug. 9.
