St. Petersburg funk and soul sextet The HeadTones is set to release a new album, Music of Our Lives, on Jan. 24. Next month, the boys — frontmen Josh Magwood and Shawn Carson, drummer Josh MacFarland, multi-instrumentalists Carmine Pocchia and Jamal Hasan, plus DJ Brenton Mohn — will support the effort at the Brainquility Festival in Live Oak.

Today, however, finds the band sharing a track from the album recorded by Greg Druspek at Largo’s Vibe Studios (the mastering was handled by Alex Gordon at London’s Abbey Road Studios).

"After years of performing in different style bands, this music we make now," Magwood told CL. "The music of our lives is older, wiser, better, faster, stronger."
