St. Petersburg is going to have to wait for its date with the ghost of Ronnie James Dio.

On Saturday, June 1, reps for the Dio hologram tour said that the Sunday, June 2 show at Palladium Theater in St. Petersburg has been canceled.

"Due to the size and scope of the production, the show cannot go on as planned," it said in a press release. "We are working closely with the producers of the tour to find a new date at an alternative venue."

Tickets purchased will be refunded at point of purchase, and hologram tour reps offered to honor tickets for the Orlando show on Saturday, June 1, but it might've been tough to change plans on the day of the show.

The 90-minute program has been on the road since 2016 and would've been the second hologram tour to visit Tampa Bay in the last year. Roy Orbison’s digital ghost was in Clearwater in November, and the opener on that tour (Julian Frampton) joked that the hologram was the most consistent performer he's ever seen.

Apparently holograms can cancel, too.
