Rockabilly surf-rock band The Bad Katz is joined by Frenzied Passions and Circus City Psychos to pay musical tribute to the Man in Black at St. Pete’s VFW Post 39, which, like other VFWs, took a beating because of COVID-19 regulations. The venue was even forced to take down a GoFundMe when a state commander said the fundraiser violated VFW regulations.
But now that bars are open again, the venue can go back to hosting shows plus its Tuesday karaoke nights. Masks are required when not sitting, and the event page states “all Covid 19 protocols will be in place for the show as required by the venue.”
Hearts of Black: Johnny Cash Tribute w/The Bad Katz/Frenzied Passions/Circus City Psychos. Saturday, March 6, 8 p.m. $5. VFW Post 39, St. Petersburg. INFO
