The Jubilee Tour was organized to celebrate the 30th anniversaries of two of the 90s’ beloved rock albums–Stone Temple Pilots’ Purple and Live’s Throwing Copper. Special guest Soul Asylum will also perform on the 19-city tour.
The albums cemented each bands’ place in rock history with Stone Temple Pilots becoming a mainstay of ’90s grunge and Live’s “Lightning Crashes” maintaining the number one spot on modern rock radio for 10 consecutive weeks.
Concert-goers can expect to hear hit songs from both albums and a full set from each band spanning generations.
Stone Temple Pilots’ original frontman Scott Weiland passed away from accidental drug overdose while on tour in 2015, joining countless other grunge legends in an early grave. The current STP lineup carries on Weiland’s artistry and legacy as they celebrate Purple‘s 30th anniversary.
Live will be coming off of a tour of Australia co-headlined by Incubus and STP will just have finished a summer of festivals before the tour begins.
Tickets for the Jubilee Tour with Stone Temple Pilots and Live at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Wednesday, Aug, 28 go on sale Friday, March 22, and ticket prices have yet to be announced.
