Stuart Andrews has been painting in acrylics for about 15 years, but he started a series of still lifes of St. Petersburg three months ago when he quit his job (pieces featuring Coney Island, World Liquors, El Cap and Sunken Gardens are some of our favorites).
On Saturday he’ll show some of the work off at the new Warehouse Arts District location of iconic Sunshine City music store Daddy Kool Records. The show will hang all month, but August 10 is the only chance you’ll be able to have a look while the sounds of cowpunk-influenced rock and roll band Fever Beam pump through the air. Festivities kick off at 5 p.m. and go until 9 p.m. There’s no cover to get in.
Sat., August 10. 5 p.m.-9 p.m. Daddy Kool, Records, 2430 Terminal Dr., St. Petersburg. INFO.
