Summer Salt’s sticky-sweet retro-leaning indie-pop somehow survived a September 2018 sexual assault allegation against now ex-member Phil Baier (who was immediately fired after the accusations from several women came to light), but can the band’s Tampa show survive pornaoke at Pegasus Night Club?
We’ll find out on Wednesday.
The Austin-based outfit (still featuring Eugene Chung, who’s been named in other allegations) was supposed to bring a self-released 2018 album, Happy Camper, to Orpheum in Ybor City, where yacht-pop revival band Dante Elephante and New Orleans folk band Motel Radio were set to open the show, but now the concert has been moved to Pegasus. A Pegasus employee confirmed that the venue is still going to host its infamous pornaoke night after the concert. All previously purchased tickets will be honored at the new location.
As far as pornaoke goes, well, you’re on your own.
