Traitors goes hard.

Last March, the Tampa-based metalcore outfit’s drummer Stephen Arango had to drop off a tour after breaking his hand on the face of a man who tried to rob him. A month before that, the band’s leader, Tyler Shelton, forcefully expressed an unfiltered opinion about a metal scene that takes advantage of young, hardworking bands, adding that if gatekeepers “can’t monetize off it, they will keep you at the bottom of the ladder.”

This weekend, Shelton & co. get to lead the charge on a stacked bill of the genre’s best, happening at Orpheum, the Bay area’s veritable cradle of metal.

Tickets to see Fear Frenzy 2023 with Traitors, He Is Legend, Cane Hill, Greyhaven, Kaonashi, Enox, Mouthbreather, Gas FL, and more at Tampa’s Orpheum on Sunday, Oct. 22 are still available and cost $35.
