Among the leaders of Brooklyn’s underground Beast Coast hip hop movement are Flatbush Zombies, a trio of rappers (Meechy Darko, Zombie Juice and Erick "The Architect" Elliott, also the group’s producer) who’ve been earning all manner of buzz for their LSD-dropping habits and its impact on their frenetic, idiosyncratic style. According to HipHopDX in its glowing review of debut full-length 3001: A Laced Odyssey, “The zombies of Flatbush stretch their voices to their limits of animation, excavate the zaniest sounds fit for a sci-fi acid trip and deliver constant, extensive lyrical displays not normally found on debut albums from commercially unproven artists.” 7 p.m. doors, State Theatre, St. Petersburg, $25.
