Tampa Bay gets a couple of chances to see Austin-based bluesman Eric Tessmer this week, and the two shows will be quite different from each other from an audience and cover charge standpoint.
The first opportunity to see the boisterous, hyper-posi guitarist and songwriter happens this Thursday at a Safety Harbor Art and Music Center gig where a room of paying fans (the show’s $20) will watch Tessmer work through his candid, and fiery, catalog after Amarillo-born country outlaw Cosy Jasper opens the show.
Tessmer then heads across the Howard Franklin on Friday for a “holy-crap-this-is-free?,” four-hour performance at Tampa’s Sparkman Wharf where many people, quite frankly, will be too busy talking to each other or Instagramming to fully realize the talent that’s onstage. Regardless, we hope Tessmer plays material from his EP 2 release (due in a month) and picks up some new Tampa Bay fans along the way. Info on the downtown Tampa show available via sparkmanwharf.com.
