Left Lane Ent. Proudly Presents: WLCM2KNXVLL DJ Knox is a hard-working Bay area hip-hop scene staple who also shows up on stage at Rolling Loud festival, and on Thursday he mans the ones and twos for his and Mighty Jai’s Left Lane Entertainment as the promotions collective throws a free party at this hip, long-running St. Pete watering hole. A lineup of emcees hasn’t been announced yet, but a few always end up rocking the mic for a bit. (The Bends, Ybor City) INFO

✔️ St. Petersburg Jazz Festival w/Veronica Swift & Jeff Rupert Quintet It’s night two of the 10th annual St. Pete Jazz Festival, and this gig in the Palladium’s side room finds 23-year-old singer and Jazz at Lincoln Center alum Veronica Swift being joined by a quintet led by saxophonist Jeff Rupert, UCF’s director of jazz studies. Find last week’s copy of CL to read more about the festival or just visit the feature story here. (Side Door Cabaret at Palladium Theater, St. Petersburg) INFO

✔️ The Beer Garden Sessions w/Jack Sprouse/John Nowicki/Marc Ganancias/Nickole Hanna/Kaleb Stewart/Derek Forrester This singer-songwriter series doesn’t officially kick off until April, but Crowbar apparently wants to show off the upgrades it made to its courtyard. Jack Sprouse (frontman for hard-drinking Bay area Americana outlaws Band of Sorrows) is on the bill alongside Tampa author and songwriter Marc Ganancias (old-school punk group Occam’s Razor) and Poetry ‘n’ Lotion drummer John Nowicki. Gainesville strummer Kaleb Stewart is even making the drive down to play, and promoters have promised a mini-market (art, bitters, buttons and more), BBQ (made by Sprouse’s Band of Sorrows bandmates Anson Mitchell and Sean Pomeroy) plus cheap beer, too. The Blue Goose Tiki Takeover w/Mondo Diablo The Goose has been dipping its webby toes into the music game lately, and there’s a blurb in the “Do This” section near the front of this issue that’ll explain why we’re hyped on this show. (The Blue Goose, St. Petersburg) INFO
