✔️ Diana Krall Can you Turn Up the Quiet? Because Canadian jazz pianist and singer Diana Krall is going to try on Tuesday when she brings her unique contralto voice and simply brilliant songs to Clearwater in support of her latest album. Don’t be surprised if Ruth Eckerd Hall ends up being sold out for this show that we’re sure will touch on every aspect of the 53-year-old Grammy winner’s decorated career. We’ve got our fingers crossed for an appearance by jazz guitarist Peter Bernstein (a member of Krall’s band from 1999-2001 who is headlining his own Tampa show on January 29), too. Jack Toft w/Steeling/Run-On Sunshine/DJ Hollowlife A five-year-old child writes these music previews, so naming your band something silly (Well Strung, or Jack Toft) is a good way to get our attention. We hope there isn’t too much attention paid to this little house show, however, because we like the idea that Toft (a goofy, grimy rapper from Buffalo) can bring friends like Gainesville experimental composer Steeling and St. pete lo-fi pop maestro Run-On Sunshine for these kinds of all-ages show that are just as important to the fabric of our scene as the big productions happening at more traditional venues. Ask someone about the exact whereabouts of this one. (House Show, Tampa)

Killswitch Engage/Anthrax/Havok In April, legendary metal makers Anthrax will release a long-anticipated live-in-concert DVD (Kings Among Scotland, due April 27), but fans might as well catch the show in real life when the band arrives at Jannus on a co-headlining tour with Massachusetts metalcore favorite Killswitch Engage, which is still touring in support of its 2016 album, Incarnate.
