✔️ Mayhem w/Immolation/Black Anvil Revered and iconic Norwegian black metal band Mayhem is a little late on the 20th anniversary of a 1994 album (De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas), but that hasn’t stopped the group from tapping some old friends (like Black Anvil, which accompanied MaHyem on its last stateside tour) to help celebrate the monumental debut full-length, which is almost always the release that American Mayhem fans point to as their fIrst experience with the influential outfit. (Orpheum, Ybor City) INFO
Lindsey Stirling w/Alexander Jean Lindsey Stirling could not have picked a better name for a holiday album that she planned to take on tour date through the South. Warmer In the Winter(released October 20 via Concord Records) is the 31-year-old’s first seasonal release, and it’s a sign that her own unique brand of electric violin music (she was once dubbed the “dubstep violinist” and the “Skrillex of classical music”) is catching on. Guests on the 13-track effort include Sabrina Carpenter, Trombone Shorty and Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low, and don’t be surprised if the America’s Got Talent alum attracts even more television-watching fans since she just came off a stint on the 25th season of ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. (Straz Center, Tampa) INFO
✔️ The Porch Sessions w/Acho Brother/Julia Powell If there was ever a Seminole Heights business that could use a Black Friday boost, then it’s Ella’s, which was closest to the site of the latest seemingly related Heights murders. Expect neighbors and sup-porters to fock to the long-running eatery, where more than two dozen local makers will pitch their wares while The Porch Sessions play a rare gig alongside the well-travelled sounds of Hector Mayoral’s Latin-folk proj-ect Acho Brother and Julia Powell. (Ella’s Americana Folk Art Cafe, Tampa) INFO

✔️ Rodrigo y Gabriela w/Marc Scibilia It’s been three years since Clearwater last saw Rodrigo y Gabriela and a decade since the respected Mexico City guitar duo made up of Rodrigo Sanchez and Gabriela Quintero released its self-titled major-label debut, which came after time spent busking on the streets of Dublin, where the pair honed its unique blend of metal, classical and Latin sounds. Newbies will certainly be blown away by the super-quick and nimble finger-picking, and anyone who gets there early will also enjoy getting to catch a set from Nashville-based songwriter Marc Scibilia. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO
Black Friday w/Kevin K/Dead Cities/Teacher Teacher We detailed the Record Store Day Black Friday offerings in our new and expanded Do This section (look here, friend), but here’s a way to put a bow on your day spent shopping at your favorite independent music retailers. A new Tampa shoegaze outfit (Dead Cities) goes for a lap at this show where old-school NYC punk turned Florida guy Kevin K plays alongside another garage rock band, Teacher Teacher. (Planet Retro Records, St. Petersburg) INFO
Blac Youngsta Ybor City’s house of hip-hop is having a rough go with ASCAP lately (the nonprofit membership association represents more than 625,000 songwriters and alleges that the club plays licensed music without paying for it — the club did not return calls after being contacted by our friends at the Tampa Bay Times), but we’ve got to give it to Skye for booking a rapper named Blac Youngsta to play its Black Friday party. The Memphis rapper is a wild (and often hilarious) personality on social media whose outspoken posts echo the honest and general high-energy of songs like his latest single, “Booty” and his latest outing with T-Pain, “Goal Line.” (Skye, Ybor City) INFO
Hodera w/Small Talks/Hexproof/Green Haven/Shurwood/The Time Framed A handful of Bay area rock acts (The Time Framed, Hexproof, emo guys Shurwood and experimental quartet Green Haven) join Northeastern indie-folk four-piece Hodera and Cayley Spivey’s South Carolina-based Small Talks project for a jam-packed night of D.I.Y. goodness at the tattoo shop. (Lucky You Tattoo, St. Petersburg) INFO
#Pound Fridays w/4B/ACRAZE DJ Snake protegé 4B brings a Staten Island-born, Jersey-reared style of brick band EDM and club music to Ybor City as part of Amphitheatre’s long-running #Pound Friday series. Guest list is free until 11:30 p.m. if you’re a guy (midnight for ladies, according to The Ritz’s website), so maybe set an alarm after eating that leftover turkey sando? (The Ritz, Ybor City) INFO
Soul Power Cornucopia w/Greg Billings Band/Mama’s Batch/The Black Honkeys More free music to get you moving after the holiday gluttony, and this one is rock, blues and funk-favored thanks to former Stranger frontman Greg Billings and a Nalani Rothrock-fronted showstopping quintet, Mama’s Batch, which sprinkles a little soul into its very own home-cooked hybrid of classic and modern blues. (Jannus Live, St. Petersburg) INFO
Michael Ray w/Tyler Farr You’ll have to drive towards New Port Richey to see rising country crooner Michael Ray at The Stockyard, but the 30-some-odd miles from Ybor might be worth it if you’re into the kind of tight-jeans-wearing pop-country tunes this 29-year-old, Warner Brothers Records-signed Florida boy is slinging on songs like “Kiss You In the Morning.” (The Stockyard, Holiday) INFO
The Coax w/Mushmind The Coax — a Minnesota-based group making lo-f garage rock — has escaped the chilly Land of 10,000 Lakes and landed in Seminole Heights record shop Microgroove, where the spirit of the ‘60s and ‘70s will be channeled into old amps and turned into a sound that has earned the band numerous festival slots (Northside Festival, SXSW, Twin Cities Pride Festival) plus lots of loyalty from radio — the band has enjoyed a residency on 89.3 The Current’s Minneseries program. Ybor City stoner-punks Mushmind will melt a few brains to open the show. (Microgroove, Tampa) CANCELLED
