✔️ Swimm w/The Jackettes/Jordan Esker & The Hundred Percent Swimm’s sound has always had a polish that we never expected to see within the gritty walls of Fubar. But it looks like the once-Florida-based band wants to say goodbye to a venue that inadvertently played a hand in the outfit’s development (Swimm played the 2013 edition of the now-defunct Antiwarpt party, which featured Fubar as a host venue). The L.A. band’s debut LP, Sentimental Porno, is a gorgeous hunk of shimmery psych-rock, and we’re hoping to hear driving bonus single “Weekend” from a recent reissue of 2015’s Beverly Hells EP, too. Bay area bands The Jackettes and Jordan Esker & The Hundred Percent — which both released impressive 2018 albums — play support as this 9-year-old 600 Block live music staple enters its last week of existence. ✔️Holiday Strum Punk Extravaganza Jack Sprouse’s songwriter series had a pretty great inaugural run. In celebration, the metalhead-turned-outlaw country songwriter is welcoming no less than 18 Bay area strummers to Ella’s for an all-day concert that kicks off at 2 p.m. before shutting down seven hours later. Highlights on the stacked bill include 2018 CL Music Issue artist Blake Daniels, Have Gun Will Travel’s Matt Burke, Navin Ave.’s Shae Krispinsky and our very own editor-in-chief, Scott Harrell, but you’re not really going to be disappointed with any act on the lineup. Free to attend; bring money for food and booze. (Ella’s Americana Folk Art Café, Tampa) INFO

✔️ Holiday Instrument Drive w/Safewaters/Geri X/Kerry Courtney/Kristopher James/Nijah feat. Katie Talbert/Noisemakers students Noisemakers provides music education at a low cost (sometimes waiving fees completely), and Operation Coexist hosts and sponsor concerts and music festivals to raise money that provides funding to music education programs for children in the local foster care system. The groups — in conjunction with Ruby’s Elixir — have been collecting musical instruments all week and celebrate the drive with an early afternoon concert featuring Noisemakers kids playing alongside some of the finest songwriters the region has to offer. The show is free to attend. (Ruby’s Elixir, St. Petersburg) INFO

Boots N Catz Presents: Boots N Catzmas w/Kyle Kinch/Nerd Rage/Plsma/Innocent Victims/Nigel Von Pitman/Miss Bhayve Kyle Kinch shows up a lot on this week’s live music menu, and the gig finds the Tampa producer headlining yet another dance music party taking over the patio at Carmine’s. Kinch’s Manchester EP may be just two songs long, but it’s a good entry point to his obsession with jazz, disco and techno. Nerd Rage brings dubby wubs to the market stage, and a handful of other locals play support. (Carmine’s, Ybor City) INFO

✔️ Ol’ Dirty Sundays w/Kaotic Blaze/MyVerse Deacon might have a crowd control challenge on his hands when Rock Steady Crew’s Margie Nuñez (AKA Kaotic Blaze) and Natalia Pitti (an Orlando songwriter, poet, battle rapper and alum from Season 13 of MTV’s Wild ‘n Out better known as MyVerse) join the Ol’ Dirty Sundays team for the series’ penultimate patio party of 2018.
