Tim Reynolds and TR3 Say whatever you like about that 1999 Live at Luther College double-CD Tim Reynolds released with Dave Matthews because that album introduced the underrated guitarist to a slew of new fans who’ve remained committed to the 61-year-old ever since. Reynolds brings his trio, TR3, to the quirky confines of the Safety Harbor Art and Music Center, but good luck trying to get in because this show has been sold out for weeks. ✔️ Olivia Gatwood w/Melissa Lozada-Oliva This one technically isn’t a concert, but it’s futile to try and diffuse the power of poet, author and educator Olivia Gatwood. The Boston-based artist is famous for her slam poem “Ode To My Bitch Face,” and the words in a very lyrical 2017 book New American Best Friend could be a young person’s roadmap to survival in an America that can’t seem to address the awkwardness it places on conversations about harassment, sexuality and shame. In short, Gatwood’s words land on ears like punches in a boxing ring — and that’s worth getting off the couch for no matter what. (The Attic at Rock Brothers Brewing, Ybor City) INFO
I See Stars Electronicore is for the kids who wish dubstep would’ve made it to Warped Tour, and while that might turn some off of this show from these Michigan-based purveyors of the style, know that this set will be a little less loud (and perhaps more technical) than a normal I See Stars set since it is part of the group’s run of acoustic dates. (Crowbar, Ybor City) INFO
✔️ Vaden Landers Band Vaden Landers is what happens when a young man grows up obsessed with the vintage American sounds of jug, cajun, western swing, blues and country. The old soul from eastern Tennessee is playing two rare Florida dates (the other one happens at Zephyrhills’ Ramada Inn as part of the town’s Poisonville Songs Project), and fans of Hank Williams are going to want to see “Papa Vay” when he goes to church on a Thursday.
