✔️ Pre-Fest 6 (Day One) The Fest 17 is set to take over Gainesville from October 26-28, and while Ybor City’s Pre-Fest 6 lineup doesn’t feature Fest 17 acts like Lagwagon and Metz and Iron Chic, Cigar City is still getting one hell of smattering of bands that’ll play various venues in the historic district from October 24-25. More than two dozen bands will play Pre-Fest 6, including Fest 17 headliners Cursive, Massachusetts hardcore-and-then-melodic punk outfit Piebald, Texas power-pop giants Radioactivity (featuring former Marked Men Jeff Burke and Mark Ryan) and Fest fan-favorite RVIVR. Baltimore rock outfit War On Women, Berkeley emo act Mom Jeans and Buffalo indie-pop band Lemuria add to a strong lineup of out-of-state acts. The Tim Version, Wolf-Face and King Complex are the Bay area’s local representatives on Pre-Fest 6’s initial lineup, with Florida favorites like Dikembe and David Dondero making appearances as well. Wednesday’s kickoff is headlined by Cursive, RVIVR, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, Dikembe and more. (Various Venues, Ybor City) INFO

Toto Weezer’s cover of “Africa” was fun four months ago, but now every band in the world has seemingly jumped in on the trend of covering Toto’s signature song. The Grammy-winning outfit will try its best to reclaim the tune at this Clearwater show that is part of Toto’s 40th anniversary tour. (Ruth Eckerd Hall, Clearwater) INFO
