✔️ Pre-Fest 6 w/War On Women/The Menzingers/Piebald/Lemuria/Dead To Me/Radioactivity/Meat Wave/Tim Barry/The Tim Version/Pears/more Punk-rock bacchanal Fest 17 kicks off in Gainesville on Friday, but its little sibling — Big Pre-Fest in Little Ybor — wraps its sixth year on Thursday with a three-venue throwdown headlined by two generations of punk-rock bands (old-school Andover, Massachusetts emocore outfit Piebald; beloved, early-aughts punk-pop quartet The Menzingers) and highlighted by a few Florida fan favorites (David Dondero, whose “South of the South” is the unofficial folk-anthem of Ybor; melodic indie-rock quintet Lemuria, whose frontwoman Sheena Ozzella might as well be pop-punk royalty around here). Do not miss the early set from Baltimore hardcore outfit War On Women, whose moniker, message and music (especially, “Predator In Chief”) couldn’t be happening at a more important time in the country’s history. David Allan Coe Bad luck and adventures gone wrong are the mark of David Allan Coe’s career, but the outlaw country songwriter is also still trying to outrun a controversial past that saw him release two underground albums of early-'80s songs that some still consider among the most racist, misogynist, homophobic and obscene ever. Get uncomfortable with him, his fans and curious onlookers at this Brass Mug gig. (Brass Mug, Tampa) INFO

✔️ Mercy Union w/Doc Hopper/Mikey Erg/Car Bomb Driver/End of Pipe/Slap of Reality Don’t call it a Fest show, but New Brunswick power-pop outfit Doc Hopper is getting a St. Petersburg record shop gig off in between shows at Pre-Fest 6 in Ybor and Fest 17 in Gainesville. Joining the band at Planet Retro is punk-rock journeyman Mikey Erg and Tampa Bay’s own Slap of Reality, which features Planet Retro owner Rob Sexton on the drums. Headlining the whole thing is Mercy Union (which has members of The Gaslight Anthem and The Scandals in its lineup), and you’d do good to get there in time to see End of Pipe, which is in town all the way from Brazil. All ages, and it’s $7 at the door. (Planet Retro Records, St. Petersburg) INFO
