Over the summer, CL pointed out how John Lamb is a living connection to the roots of Tampa Bay’s jazz scene. On Thursday, the 86-year-old bassist (his birthday was on Wednesday) joins three of his most talented disciples—trumpeter James Suggs, guitarist Nate Najar and vocalist Bryan Hughes—for a hyper-intimate, dressed-down gig at a revered local restaurant and jazz haven. You’re gonna want reservations for this one.
John Lamb w/Bryan Hughes/Nate Najar/James Suggs. Thurs., Dec. 5. The Horse and Jockey, 1155 Pasadena Ave. S., South Pasadena.
