Maudlin Moon is a stalking, cave-dwelling, take-your-breath-away band in the Tampa music scene at the moment. The quartet led by Brianna Bullock’s silky, Siouxsie-tinged delivery, and Luke Carlos’ runaway-Camaro-in-the-desert synth (most notably heard on their newest track “Imminence”) brings welcome cover to wet and humid summer nights.
The band has been gearing up for this EP release with a sneak peek of its second single, “Cosmonaut,” which provides more layers and theatrics to the band’s refreshingly singular sound. Ital-disco-pop band Nasal Spray and instrumental rock band Gullwing open the free show.
Maudlin Moon EP Release Show w/Gullwing/Nasal Spray. Fri., Aug. 2, 8 p.m. No cover. The Bricks, Ybor City. INFO.
