Many of you already know that Tampa is still pretty much the death metal capital of the world, and one of the most influential bands the genre has ever scene is still at it. Today, Tampa's own Obituary released a video for their new single, "Sentence Day." The cut comes from a forthcoming self-titled LP due on March 17 via Relapse Records. It follows a surprise live EP, Ten Thousand Ways to Die, released late last year.
Obituary was engineered by the legendary Scott Burns (Cannibal Corpse, Sepultura) at Tampa's Morrisound Studio, which a press release says "would come to be the most sought after facility for production of albums during the rise of death metal in the 1990s." CL profiled the studio in our 2015 Music Issue.
The band is touring as part of the 2017 Decibel Magazine Tour with Kreator, Horrendous and Midnight. The tour kicks stops at the Orpheum in Ybor City on March 19. More information on the show is available via local.cltampa.com. Watch the video below.
